• Rishi's marriage is fixed with Neha. Baani changes Tanu's name to Tanvi by saying that Raaj doesn't like Tanu and Ahaana. Tanu's wedding gets fastened with Pawan, a man from Jalandhar.
• Rishi and Tanu's wedding goes to require place on identical day. Rishi finds out that Pawan is already married to a lady, Saloni and they want to use Tanu as their surrogate. Rishi fails to expose them.
• On the day of their wedding, Tanu's sister Ahaana drugs Tanu and helps Rishi in kidnapping her. They each speak when that Tanu reveals that she is that the real Tanu. After knowing the truth, they both happily marry, but Pawan follows them.
• Everyone gets to know the truth by Ahaana, Kaatyayani Bai and Manpreet (Rishi's younger brother) that Pawan is married to Saloni and Tanvi is real Tanu. Hearing this the Bedis insult Neha and Bani for betraying them.
• Neha decides to require revenge on Rishi's family for insulting her and lies to Sandy, her boyfriend that Rishi molested her and Sandy decides to kill Rishi. When Rishi and Tanu are about to travel back to home, Sandy tries to shoot Rishi but Tanu shields him and is shot. Tanu passes away in the arms of Rishi.
• A heartbroken Rishi tries to commit suicide, but Tanu's soul saves him yet again and tells him that she will come only to reunite with him.
• Tanu is reborn in the form of Sandy's niece as Tanuja Vikram Sikand. Rishi becomes heartless after Tanu's sudden demise. In an accident, Tanuja's face gets burnt badly, and doctor advises her to go in for plastic surgery. Beeji (Rishi's grandmother) mistakenly hands over Tanu's picture to the doctor and Tanuja gets Tanu's face. Rishi becomes ruder towards Tanuja. Also, Rishi now hates Tanuja as she is Sandy's niece.

• Kratika Sengar as Tanushree Rishi Singh Bedi/ Tanuja Rishi Singh Bedi/ Kritika Kohli- The character of Tanu was initially killed off and replaced by Shivani Tomar as a reincarnated version of Tanu. However, after a drop-in viewership and fans demand, Tomar's version of the character underwent plastic surgery in the storyline, and producers brought Sengar back into the role of Tanu (2016–2018)
• Shivani Tomar as Tanuja Sikand, the reincarnated version of Tanu. Tomar pictured the role of Tanuja for roughly one month before Sengar came back to the series. Poor audience response due to a perceived lack of chemistry between Tomar and Malhotra was cited as a reason for her dismissal 2016.
